Filmmakers will be awarded 25
awards in 16 Indian categories and 10 awards in
nine international categories. The total prize
money is INR 20,00,000. Awards for Indian films
will comprise a citation, trophy and cash prize
ranging from INR 50,000 to INR 1,50,000. International
award-winners will receive a citation and a trophy.
The awards will be announced at a gala ceremony
on the evening of October 30.
All films entering in the Indian Award Category
will be considered for special awards —
overall best film of the festival and technical
awards in cinematography and editing. Films produced
with INR 50,000 or below will be considered for
the Low Budget Film Award. A special award has
also been instituted for a Policy Change Film.
Journalists (both print and electronic) will also
be awarded for excellence in environmental reporting.
