Filmmakers will be awarded 25 awards in 16 Indian categories and 10 awards in nine international categories. The total prize money is INR 20,00,000. Awards for Indian films will comprise a citation, trophy and cash prize ranging from INR 50,000 to INR 1,50,000. International award-winners will receive a citation and a trophy. The awards will be announced at a gala ceremony on the evening of October 30.

All films entering in the Indian Award Category will be considered for special awards — overall best film of the festival and technical awards in cinematography and editing. Films produced with INR 50,000 or below will be considered for the Low Budget Film Award. A special award has also been instituted for a Policy Change Film. Journalists (both print and electronic) will also be awarded for excellence in environmental reporting.
