The
time for Corporate Social Responsibility has arrived. It's high
on the agenda of many companies - and if not their agenda –
it has become a consumer priority. So was it, when it came to PVR
Ltd. The evolution of PVR Nest, the corporate social responsibility
wing of PVR Ltd has strived to develop the social capital in order
to building meaningful, multicultural, multi-disciplinary relationship
with communities and neighbourhoods.
When we began our CSR, our PVR Nest journey a few years ago, one
of our challenges was to examine how we could develop a long-term
partnership with groups with whom we can work closely on pivotal
issues like education, health, knowledge for the lesser fortunate
children. And the next lingering issue was to measure how we could
work with relentless trust, commitment and ensured sustainability.
The answers were not clear, but the spirits were high.
Nest’s flagship project Childscapes responded to diverse
challenges of CSR. It created a partnership with the non-aligned
partners i.e the business community. Childscapes inspired many people,
organizations, corporate and groups to join the movement.
Today Nest empowers more than 275 children in and around Delhi
and NCR with our programs – PVR childscapes, PVR ki paathshala,
PVR school-life. More than 10,000 children get to watch green films
every year at PVR Cinemas, across the country. New inroads have
been paved and the future is positive; Nest visualizes to touch
upon 500 children through its various programs by 2010.
