Nature and People Award                  

For the production that portrays the relationship between nature and people, revealing perhaps a new perspective or worldview.

  Environment Conservation Award     

For the production featuring environmental conservation issues, either unveiling a new issue or offering a new approach to an existing one. Films on environment and health, toxicity, mining, pollution, waste, eco-tourism, energy or renewable energy, green buildings, alternative vehicles or fuels, activist oriented, corporate accountability etc. could be entered in this category

  Children's Film Award                 

For the programme that most effectively kindles an appreciation of the natural world and its conservation among young audiences

  Animation Award                 

For the production demonstrating a high degree of technical innovation using traditional animation techniques, computer generated images (CGI) or other production methods. At least 50% of the film should be animated.

  SDC FESTIVAL THEME: Climate Change Award                 

The production that portrays the science or signs of climate change or its impact on ecosystems, agriculture, food security, health, human settlements, especially in the coastal areas in the years to come or global politics of climate change.
