The 25-member Nomination Jury met for four days from July 11-13 at CMS for selection of potential winners. The members were from diverse backgrounds and organizations such as BNHS, National Geography Channel, ICRISAT, NID, Satyajit Ray Film Insititute, IIMC, MCRC, WWF, TERI, DA, The Hindu, Indian Express, AUSAID, Children Film Institute, Action Aid, FIIT etc.
Dr. K P Jayasankar, Professor and Chair, Centre for Media and Cultural Studies, TISS, Mumbai, chaired the Nomination Jury.
Like the previous years, CMS VATAVARAN 2007 received good response from filmmakers and there are 206 submissions in TEN Indian categories and 54 submissions in the newly introduced SIX International Categories. This is a big figure considering the fact that the festival accepted entries of productions made from January 1, 2005 till June 30, 2007.
Screenings
All the Nominated Films were screened during the festival from Sep 12-16, 2007, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The detail programme and screenings schedule is available on the website.
