Prerna Singh Bindra

Prerna Singh Bindra is a wildlife conservationist and writer. She is currently on Uttarakhand’s State Board for Wildlife, and was a member of the National Board for Wildlife and its core Standing Committee between 2010-13. Prerna has recently established Bagh(http://bagh.org/), a trust to secure India's wildlife and wild habitats. She is also editor of the journal TigerLink. A crucial area of her work is policy intervention to strengthen the legal and policy framework for conservation, and conserving and consolidating wildlife habitats—such as the notification of Nandhaur Valley, an important tiger and elephant habitat in Uttarakhand, as a Wildlife Sanctuary Prerna has written more than 1,500 articles on nature and wildlife, and authored two books. Designated an Ashoka Changemaker in 2011 by the Ashoka Foundation, Prerna has been awarded the ABN-AMRO Sanctuary Asia Wildlife Service Award and the Carl Zeiss Wildlife Conservation Award .
