Meet the Team
Ms P N Vasanti is the Director General of CMS and is responsible for overseeing all initiatives and management. She specializes in strategy development, designing, researching and evaluating development communication initiatives.
Vasanti is a PhD scholar at JNU on media studies and has double Masters degrees in Psychology and Management. She often gives talks and lectures, and writes on the current Media Scene and Trends in India (regular column in Mint called Fine Print since 2008), Use of Mass Communication in Development Programs, Role and Impact of Mass media, Communication Research, Behavior Change Communication and Entertainment Education Strategy.
Vasanti has been an active advocate for more accountable media and been part of the Ministry Committee in drafting the Content Guidelines for the Broadcast Sector.
Sabyesachi Bharti is a senior programme, partnerships and institution-building professional with over two decades of experience across environmental action, social development, public engagement and rights-based advocacy. A social scientist by training, he has designed and led multi-stakeholder initiatives involving governments, international organisations, universities, civil society and communities.
He currently serves as Deputy Director, CMS VATAVARAN, where he leads programme strategy, partnerships, capacity building and public engagement on climate action, biodiversity and sustainability. He is also the Global Coordinator of IUCN #NatureForAll, an IUCN inter-commission, supporting collaboration across 650+ organisations in 90+ countries.
His work spans South Asia, bringing together government institutions, international development agencies, diplomatic missions, civil society organisations, universities, communities and global networks across countries including India, Nepal and Bhutan. He has worked with organisations and partners such as UNEP, UNDP India, GIZ, the High Commission of Canada in India and the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai. His experience covers climate and biodiversity, youth engagement, public health, social inclusion and policy advocacy.
He also represents CMS VATAVARAN in the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) process, contributing to international environmental dialogue and multilateral engagement.
MBA in Finance, IMT, UP. He has more than 18 years of experience in accounts management, taxation (Direct & Indirect tax), statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit, financial reporting, statutory compliances, and project fund management. Currently serves as Sr. Manager, Accounts & Finance at CMS VATAVARAN.
Master Degree in Computer Application. He has over 16 years of experience in monitoring software and hardware operations and has managed multiple software programs for various projects in CMS. Presently working as Sr. IT Manager in CMS VATAVARAN.
Abhishek Sharma holds a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Amity University, Noida, and has over six years of experience in communications, event design and curation, community engagement, and branding across literary, cultural, and social initiatives.
At CMS VATAVARAN, he works as Deputy Manager – Communications, supporting communications, institutional outreach, event design, media coordination, and public engagement initiatives that advance environmental awareness and sustainability.
Ms Preeti Kashyap holds a Master of Arts Degree in Mass Communication Advertisement & Journalism, diploma in Computer Science and PG diploma in Environment and Sustainable Development from IGNOU. She has experience of working on graphic design software (Corel Draw, Photoshop), HTML and DTP.
She coordinates with various academic institutes for enrolling participation and provides all relevant support in organising webinars, competitions, film screenings and workshops. At present she is working as Sr. Executive at CMS VATAVARAN since 2013.
Ms Khushboo Kohli holds an M.Sc. in Development Communication and Extension from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. She specialises in social media management, campaign coordination, content creation, research and community outreach — with hands-on experience across both online and offline platforms. She brings a versatile skill set rooted in development communication to create meaningful impact.
Ashish Kandpal holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from GB Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology. He brings experience across the social sector, communications, and environmental engagement — having worked with Pratham Education Foundation on large-scale education programs and initiatives in collaboration with UNESCO and the Government of Maharashtra.
Skilled in social media management, digital content creation, and Adobe Premiere Pro, Ashish channels his passion for nature, films, and storytelling into CMS VATAVARAN's work at the intersection of environment, media, and public engagement.
Mr Lal Singh is pursuing graduation from IGNOU, New Delhi. He also has experience working with Koha, FileMaker Pro and MS Office. At present he is working as Executive at CMS VATAVARAN since April 2017.
