Subject Focus: Importance of trees and disaster of deforestation.

Summary: This film is about two small boys, who are stuck up in a landslide and folk talk character called ‘Dhanwa Lama’ comes to their rescue. It is through this character that the children learn the importance of trees and the disaster of deforestation. In the end of the film, the children want to preserve and plant trees.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Sai Paranjpye is currently the chairperson of the CFSI, a Government of India organization with the objective of promoting and ensuring value based entertainment for children. She has previously worked with Doordarshan Kendra in Delhi as a director, and has been actively involved with Marathi and Hindi Theatre. To date she has written and directed six feature films, two children’s films and five documentaries. Her work has received due recognition with National Awards.
