Summary: This film is a study on the relationship between the tribal and the bamboo as a relationship from birth to death. It investigates further into the flowering of bamboo in Manipur and Mizoram, which has got environmental, economic and political dimensions.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Joshy Joseph is a Director, Films Division, ERPC, Kolkata. Has assisted filmmaker Shri Adoor Gopalakrishnan in the making of his award winning film Kathapurushan and his latest film Nizhalkkuthu. Scripted and directed several documentaries since 1993, out of which four films have won National Awards. These are Wearing the Face – National Award for Best Investigative Film – 2001, And the Bamboo Blooms – National Award for Best Film on Environmental Issues – 2000, Sentence of Silence – National Award for Best Film on Family Welfare – 1999, Sarang – Symphony in Cacophony – National Award for Best Motivational/ Promotional Film – 1998. His film Wheels of Change, Defying Darkness, Status Quo, Wearing the Face and Mobile took part in several International Film Festivals.
