Summary: Purulia, a district of the state of West Bengal used to face acute water shortage during the summer season.The storage structures for rain water ‘Jore’ (local name) harvesting are gradually coming up. Comprehensive Area Development Corporation has proved that floriculture in rocky area is possible. They are doing aforestation, pisciculture and agriculture at Ajodha Hills. There are wetlands and mini dams for economical self reliance.
