Summary: Water is the very important component of our life. We are very rarely serious while using it. Water pollution, availability, ground water problems, climate change-dry wet conditions, acid rain and carelessness about use of water are the common problems described in this video. The video basically focuses on water pollution, its definition, major types of water pollutants, quality of water and its impact on nature and human being. The importance and process of rainwater harvesting is also described in brief. This video is useful for undergraduate students to understand importance of water, water pollution, pollutants, scarcity and rainwater harvesting.

Producer’s Profile: Mr. Jagdish Kulkarni, is with Y.C.M. Open University since last 12 years as a Technical In-charge in its Audio Visual Production Centre. He has produced over 200 educational programmes for telecast on Doordarshan. He was also actively involved in production of some T.V. serials. Mr. Jagdish Kulkarni has proved his excellence as an editor of a documentary that was awarded a Best Production Prize by U.G.C.
